Interviews with sugarmapley folks about the people who helped them become who they are.
What the heck are sugarmapley folks? They’re a wonderul flavor of people I like to send on fun outings together. You can find out more here.
The podcast isn’t officially live yet, but will be by the end of June. Below is some info about the first three episodes, along with a rough cut of episode 1.
Episode 1 — Christoph Niemann.
I went to Berlin in February to interview him. What a treat. Here’s a rough cut…
Episode 2 — Arlene Alda.
Arlene was a professional clarinetist in her early years, but is also a fabulous writer (she’s written nineteen books), photographer, and artist. We recorded the episode April 27th in her and her husband Alan’s New York City apartment. It will be coming out soon.
In the meantime, I highly recommend the audio version of her story collection “Just Kids from the Bronx”. It features her, her husband Alan, Regis Philbin, and Robert Klein, among others, reading the stories.
Episode 3 — David Plotz.
